Portable Ramps

Overcome steps, kerbs, and vehicle thresholds with ease. Our durable, lightweight ramps provide safe access for wheelchairs, powerchairs, and mobility scooters. 📐 Safety First: The 1:12 Rule For independent wheelchair use, the recommended slope is 1 inch of rise for every 12 inches of ramp. For assisted use or scooters, a steeper gradient may be acceptable, but always ensure the ramp length is sufficient to prevent grounding or tipping.

How to Choose the Right Portable Ramp

Selecting a ramp requires more than just measuring the height of the step. You must also consider the weight of the user, the device, and the surface you are working with.

Weight Capacity (SWL)

Always check the Safe Working Load (SWL). If you are using a heavy powerchair or a mobility scooter with a rider, the combined weight can easily exceed 200kg. Our heavy-duty aluminum ramps are built to handle these loads safely.

Surface & Grip

Rain and mud can make ramps dangerous. Our ramps feature high-traction grit surfaces or punched-metal treads to ensure tyres and feet don't slip, even in typical British weather.

Expert Advice & VAT Relief

Not sure if a 4ft or 6ft ramp is needed for your car? Our specialists at Harrow and Letchworth can help you calculate the correct gradient for your specific vehicle.
